As an update to our earlier post about foreclosure and tax deed sales, it appears Courts may be on their way towards even more impactful steps.
On March 11, 2020, the Florida Supreme Court entered Administrative Order A0SC20-12, titled In Re: Response of the Florida State Courts System to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID 19). You can read it here. The Broward County Clerk of Court’s website now has an alert across the top of it: “Broward Courts Closed to Public.”
While it remains to be seen how the Judges will handle their calendars and cases, and what other Courts may follow suit, we have already had a couple of Judges in Miami-Dade County that are mandating telephonic appearance.
